One of the most widely used international standards in the automotive industry
ISO/TS 16949 is the Technical Specification for Quality Management Systems applicable to suppliers in automotive industry. It was jointly developed by The International Automotive Task Force (IATF) members, with the objective of improving both the quality capability and the entire certification process throughout the supply chain.
IATF has issued an official press release in August 2016, stating that the new international standard IATF 16949:2016 will be published in October 2016. The new industry standard will replace ISO/TS 16949:2009.
Certificates to ISO/TS 16949:2009 will no longer be valid after 14th September 2018.
