With the active audit and enforcement of law by Department of Environment, scheduled waste management is crucial to all organization that generates schedule waste.
Refer to EQA (Scheduled Waste) Regulations 2005, it states that “Every waste generator shall ensure that all his employees involved in the identification, handling, labelling, transportation, storage, and spillage or discharge response for scheduled wastes to attend training programmes.” Therefore beside engage a competence person on site, employees involve in handling of scheduled waste shall be trained

- Understanding of scheduled waste and its categories
- Sound knowledge on proper handling and storage of scheduled wastes
- Labelling and records keeping including inventory, consignment note and information for scheduled waste
- Introduction to waste management
- Identification of scheduled wastes, sorting and segregation practices
- Packing, storage and labeling requirement
- Disposal and treatment of scheduled wastes
- Records keeping, training and emergency response plan
This course is suitable to individuals in organizations handling scheduled wastes. It could include those involve the working committee in the implementation of ISO 14001, the waste and chemical management team, Legal Compliance team and internal auditor.
This is 1-day programme.
This course runs from 9:00am – 5:00pm with an hour for lunch and periodic short breaks.
This is an intensive session designed to include as much discussion as possible. Lunch and breaks provide an opportunity for further questioning and discussion with the instructors.
