Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) is a structured approach that ensures products are planned, developed, and launched to meet customer requirements effectively. It focuses on preventing quality issues through proactive planning across all project phases.
Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) validates that manufacturing processes can consistently produce parts that meet specifications before mass production begins.
Together, APQP and PPAP strengthen customer confidence, enhance communication, and ensure compliance with IATF 16949 and automotive industry standards.
This program provides participants with a comprehensive understanding of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) in line with the AIAG 2nd Edition and IATF 16949:2016 requirements. Participants will gain practical insights into how APQP phases are planned and implemented, how they link to PPAP deliverables, and how the latest AIAG–VDA FMEA methodology is integrated into the quality planning process.
This training provides participants:
Understand the intent, structure, and application of APQP within the automotive quality system.
Identify the key deliverables and expectations for each of the five APQP phases.
Apply the AIAG–VDA 7-step FMEA approach and link it effectively to Control Plans and PPAP.
Understand how to prepare, review, and submit PPAP documentation according to customer requirements.
Recognize common pitfalls and best practices in APQP and PPAP implementation.
