BPI-114 Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) - Beginner
Schedule and Hours
Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) system eliminates ambiguities in engineering drawings and brings out the designer's intent very clearly. It ensures seamless communication between design, engineering, manufacturing and quality teams across the entire organization enabling them working in a concurrent engineering environment. In the competitive industrial scenario prevailing today, proper application of GD&T system helps the companies to reduce the manufacturing and inspection costs.
At the end of this two-day course on Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of the fundamental principles, symbols, and applications of GD&T as per ASME Y14.5 standards. The course is designed to equip participants with the knowledge and skills to interpret engineering drawings with GD&T annotations, apply GD&T concepts in the design and manufacturing processes, and effectively communicate and collaborate with stakeholders using standardized GD&T language.
By the end of the course, participants will be proficient in reading, interpreting, and applying GD&T to enhance precision, quality, and interoperability in engineering and manufacturing practices.
Session 1: Introduction to GD&T
Session 2: Basic Principles of GD&T
Session 3: Symbols and Terms in GD&T
Session 4: Datums and Datum Reference Frames
Session 5: Tolerance Zones and Modifiers
Session 6: Profile Tolerancing
Session 7: True Position and Location Tolerancing
Session 8: GD&T Inspection and Measurement
Session 9: Q&A and Review
This Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing course is suited towards all individuals involved in the design & manufacturing processes, from design engineers through to manufacturing engineers, technicians and inspectors of all abilities.
This is a 2-days programme. This course runs from 9:00am – 5:00pm with an hour for lunch and periodic short breaks.
This is an intensive session designed to include as much discussion as possible. Lunch and breaks provide an opportunity for further questioning and discussion with the instructors.
