The Intermediate Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) course is designed for professionals who have completed a basic GD&T course and seek to elevate their expertise in geometric dimensioning and tolerancing to a more advanced level.
Over the course of two days, participants will delve into intricate concepts such as advanced feature control frames, expanded datum reference frames, and specialized topics like tolerance of position, form tolerances, and advanced datum feature simulators.
The program places a strong emphasis on practical applications through hands-on exercises, real-world case studies, and advanced inspection techniques.
By the end of the course, participants will not only have mastered the complexities of interpreting and applying advanced GD&T principles but will also have acquired the skills necessary to navigate tolerance stacking and conduct comprehensive tolerance stack-up analyses in complex assemblies. This intermediate course serves as a crucial stepping stone for engineers, designers, and quality control professionals aiming to enhance their proficiency in GD&T and contribute to precision and quality in engineering and manufacturing processes.
At the end of this two-day course, participants will to:
Develop a comprehensive understanding of advanced GD&T principles and their applications.
Gain proficiency in interpreting and creating composite feature control frames.
Become adept at applying and interpreting advanced profile tolerances for complex shapes.
Master advanced strategies for selecting and applying datums, including bonus tolerancing.
Explore specialized topics in GD&T, including tolerance of position, form tolerances, and advanced datum feature simulators.
Learn techniques for managing tolerance stack-up in assemblies through practical analysis.
Acquire skills in advanced GD&T inspection methodologies using measurement tools.
Apply learned concepts to real-world case studies and engineering drawings.
