The Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) is the formal customer approval process used by automotive suppliers to demonstrate that production parts, processes, and supporting evidence can consistently meet customer design and specification requirements before regular supply. This 1-day programme provides a practical overview of PPAP requirements in the context of AIAG PPAP, IATF 16949, APQP, automotive Core Tools, and customer-specific requirements relevant to Malaysian and ASEAN automotive supply chain operations.
The programme is designed for personnel involved in new product introduction, engineering change, supplier quality, production launch, customer submission, and PPAP review activities. Participants will be guided through practical examples and discussion points covering PPAP purpose, submission triggers, submission levels, the 18 PPAP elements, Significant Production Run expectations, Part Submission Warrant, customer approval status, record retention, and common submission weaknesses.
At the end of this five-days course, participants will to:
Understand the fundamental principles and structure of APQP and its role in ensuring successful product launch and quality planning
Explain the purpose, scope, and customer expectations of PPAP within AIAG, IATF 16949, and customer-specific requirements
Identify and describe the key PPAP submission elements and the type of evidence required for compliance
Recognize different PPAP submission levels (1 to 5) and determine appropriate submission requirements based on customer needs
Understand the significance of production run validation and its role in confirming production readiness
Apply basic knowledge of PPAP submission control, including approval status, documentation management, and record retention
Identify common PPAP submission gaps and weaknesses through practical examples and checklist review, and improve submission readine
