Production planning and control refers to two strategies that work cohesively throughout the manufacturing process. Production planning involves what to produce, when to produce it, how much to produce, and more. A long-term view of production planning is necessary to fully optimize the production flow. Production control uses different control techniques to reach optimum performance from the production system to achieve throughput targets.
Production planning and control are concerned with the volume and timing of outputs, the utilization of operations capacity, forecasting and developing material requirement plans, managing inventory, and managing for world class competition just- in-time manufacturing and managing for quality.
In this production planning and control course, we explain the planning and control methods of enterprise production process from different perspectives, and teach you how to achieve efficient and high-quality production according to the different needs of enterprises.
On completion of this course, each delegate will be able to:
understand implications on different kinds of resources regarding enterprise’s production planning systems
obtain an overview of the production planning systems regarding manufacturing companies
formulate, analyse and solve manufacturing planning and control problems using appropriate techniques
identify factors to design production planning systems in different manufacturing environments
form a planning system for material and production management at all decision levels, and
comprehend the links between production, planning and other enterprise’s functions

This course is designed for individuals who have on-the-job production planning experience, and who might or might not have received formal production planning training. The course is appropriate for these persons if they wish to develop professionally, increase their planning and controlling skills and seek career advancement by moving into a formal production manager job role.
This is a 2-3-days programme. This course runs from 9:00am – 5:00pm with an hour for lunch and periodic short breaks.
This is an intensive session designed to include as much discussion as possible. Lunch and breaks provide an opportunity for further questioning and discussion with the instructors.
