In the early 70’s as Total Quality Control (TQC) expanded into service and administrative areas, it become evident that the traditional 7 QC tools developed primarily for manufacturing industries were not always appropriate. However, these tools are seldom used by the management personnel. To bridge the gap, a committee under J.U.S.E. was set up in 1972 and the newer seven management and planning tools were developed under the leadership of Nyatanni by 1977. These tools are particularly helpful in improving management and planning process.
In many organizations, the missing link that led to the failure of Total Quality movement is not attributed to poor Strategic Planning by the higher Management (knowing where to go) but mainly is attributed to poor execution or implementation of process company wide improvement program (not knowing exactly how to go about doing it).
This 2-day course is primarily focused on how to apply the management and planning tools, technique and methodology by the Quality Improvement Teams (QIT) or other management teams to achieve improvement in the processes of Strategic Planning. This course not only discusses the application of the Quality Improvement tools, but also draws out many principles, tips and “how-to” for improving the effectiveness of individual or teams.
The overview of traditional 7 QC tools, and details of the Seven New Management and Planning tool will be presented and discussed during the course, complemented with various examples.
At the end of the course, you will be able to
Apply the 7MP in appropriate situations.
Grasp the relationship among the tools and their purposes.
Enhance their creativity and value adding roles.
