In the precision metal stamping and electronics manufacturing sectors, internal auditors face complex, high-risk challenges—ranging from technical machinery safety and chemical management to nuanced labour practices under the ETI Base Code and Malaysian law (such as Act 446).
Condensing international standards, local legislation, and investigative techniques into a single day often leads to information overload. By dedicating the first day entirely to foundational knowledge and the second day to hands-on, experiential learning —including document triangulation, site tour strategy, and role-playing worker interviews — the internal team will not just memorise regulations. Instead, they will acquire the practical skills necessary to uncover hidden non-compliances, identify root causes, and present robust, actionable Corrective Action Plans (CAPR) to the clients.
Upon completing this 2-day mastery course, learners will be able to confidently interpret and apply the SMETA 4-Pillar requirements (Labour, Health & Safety, Environment, and Business Ethics) specifically within the context of Malaysian manufacturing laws.
Learners will develop the practical investigative skills required to conduct rigorous internal audits, which include performing targeted factory floor site tours, triangulating complex employment data (such as piece-rate production and overtime records), and conducting unbiased, confidential worker interviews.
Ultimately, the internal audit team will be fully equipped to identify ethical and safety gaps, categorise Non-Compliances (NCs) accurately, and formulate effective Corrective Action Plans (CAPR) that drive continuous improvement and mitigate supply chain risks for the clients
