This training programme provides participants with practical awareness and understanding of the Sedex Members Ethical Trade Audit (SMETA) requirements and implementation approach within an organization. The course focuses on the key elements of SMETA 2-Pillar and 4-Pillar assessments, including labour standards, health & safety, environment, and business ethics.
Participants will gain exposure to the expectations of customers, auditors, and global supply chains while learning how organizations can establish effective management systems, improve compliance readiness, and support continual improvement practices aligned with responsible business requirements.
The programme combines awareness, practical implementation guidance, case discussions, and audit preparation approaches to help organizations strengthen their ethical trade practices and social compliance performance.
By the end of this programme, participants will be able to:
Understand the purpose, structure, and requirements of Sedex and SMETA

This is a 2-days programme. This course runs from 9:00am – 5:00pm with an hour for lunch and periodic short breaks.
This is an intensive session designed to include as much discussion as possible. Lunch and breaks provide an opportunity for further questioning and discussion with the instructors.
