“Carbon-Smart in a Day” is a fast-paced, hands-on bootcamp that turns climate jargon into practical know-how for professionals with zero background in sustainability. Across a single immersive day, participants discover why carbon management matters to profit and resilience, learn to map and calculate basic greenhouse-gas footprints, and see how three international standards – ISO 14064-1 (GHG quantification & reporting), ISO 50001 (energy management), and ISO 14001 (environmental management) – fit together to drive real improvements.

​The day closes by showing how the GRI Standards translate those internal efforts into a transparent sustainability story investors and customers can trust. Lively simulations, mini-labs, and team road- mapping keep energy high and learning memorable.


Equip beginners with the understanding, skills, and confidence needed to measure, manage, and communicate their organization’s climate-related impacts – using globally recognized frameworks – so they can kick- start a credible, business-aligned carbon-reduction program the very next working day.
By the end of this course, participants will:
  • Explain in plain language how greenhouse gases drive climate risk and why this risk now influences cost, compliance, and competitiveness.
  • Differentiate Scope 1, Scope 2, and Scope 3 emissions and identify real-world examples within their own operations.
  • Perform simple organizational carbon footprint calculation using activity data and published emission factors.
  • Describe the purpose and key clauses of ISO 14064- 1, ISO 50001, and ISO 14001.
  • Map at least three quick-win energy or process improvements that would reduce both kWh and CO₂-e in their workplace.
  • Understand the structure of the GRI Standards and list the core disclosures needed to report climate and energy performance transparently

This introductory boot-camp is purpose-built for professionals who need to understand climate management quickly yet have little or no prior training in the field.

This is a 1-day programme.

This course runs from 9:00am – 5:00pm with an hour for lunch and periodic short breaks.
 
This is an intensive session designed to include as much discussion as possible. Lunch and breaks provide an opportunity for further questioning and discussion with the instructors.
