Chemical spills and accidents can happen, on a small or large scale, anywhere that hazardous materials are found - from industrial sites and complexes to military bases, oil rigs, tanker trucks, shipping vessels, air transport hubs, and medical treatment facilities.
With the active audit and enforcement of law by Department of Environment, scheduled waste management is crucial to all organization that generates schedule waste.
The ability to respond effectively to the accidental or deliberate release of any hazardous substance relies on the knowledge and expertise of highly trained HazMat teams. This responsibility can fall to the workforce in the company.
With the growing cases of fire incident with smoke logged, toxic gas and Chemical leak it is essential for company to train ERT personal with self-contain breathing apparatus to enable the wearer to wear and work in an atmosphere which otherwise would not support life.
After completion of the course, participants will be able to learn:
Understanding types of chemicals, properties and physical data
Understand the handling, storage and disposal methods of hazardous chemical substances, including the necessary precautions; in accordance to the regulatory requirements;
Understanding of scheduled waste and its categories
Sound knowledge on proper handling and storage of scheduled wastes
Labelling and records keeping including inventory, consignment note and information for scheduled waste
Safety procedure
Handle chemical spillage & scheduled waste emergency more confidently
Carry out effective preventive measures

This is a 2-days programme. This course runs from 9:00am – 5:00pm with an hour for lunch and periodic short breaks.
This is an intensive session designed to include as much discussion as possible. Lunch and breaks provide an opportunity for further questioning and discussion with the instructors.
