Driving a forklift could pose negative impact to the organization if the employee neglects the basic requirement of safety and health. Safety at workplace, especially when handling any material handling equipment is one crucial agenda that requires special attention in accordance to the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) 1994 enforced by the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH). Most companies are aware of this and include the importance of complying the acts in the companies’ policies. However, due to some reasons many fail to implement and instill the material handling safety awareness among their workers as well as driver’s competency. As a result many employees are not aware of their responsibilities and duties that lead to unnecessary mishaps to occur at workplace. Apart from that, building and creating a competent material handling equipment personnel are crucial at the place of work.
This two days program attempts to give awareness and train the employees on forklift safe driving in their daily task. This would enable them to function effectively as a responsible and competent forklift operator in order to create a safe, healthy and conducive working environment.
