An Integrated Management System (IMS) Internal Auditor is responsible for evaluating and verifying the effectiveness of a company's processes in meeting the requirements of both ISO 9001:2015 (Quality Management System) and ISO/IEC 27001:2022 (Information Security Management System). By combining both standards, organizations can streamline operations while ensuring consistent product/service quality and robust information security practices. The internal auditor must have a sound understanding of both standards, particularly their overlapping clauses such as leadership, risk-based thinking, performance evaluation, and continual improvement. They are trained to assess how well these systems are implemented in a unified manner, helping the organization maintain compliance and improve efficiency through integrated audits
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
Apply ISO/IEC 27001:2022 and ISO 9001:2015 standards to prepare internal audits in an integrated manner.
Develop effective audit checklists and audit questions.
Conduct a live internal audit with real-time observations.
Focus on key risk-based areas, control effectiveness, and conformity.
Share practical guidance and lessons learned through group debrief.

Participants should have prior knowledge or experience in internal auditing and a basic understanding of ISO 9001:2015 and ISO/IEC 27001:2022 standards. This course is intended for trained auditors, and it does not cover fundamental auditing skills or detailed clause-by-clause explanations. It is recommended that attendees have completed formal training in either ISO 9001 or ISO/IEC 27001 internal auditing before attending this integrated session.
This is a 1-day programme. This course runs from 9:00am – 5:00pm with an hour for lunch and periodic short breaks.
This is an intensive session designed to include as much discussion as possible. Lunch and breaks provide an opportunity for further questioning and discussion with the instructors.
