Lean Kaizen is a practical approach to continuous improvement that focuses on making small, incremental changes to processes, systems, or workflows to eliminate waste and enhance efficiency. Derived from Japanese practices, “Kaizen” means “change for the better,” and when combined with Lean principles, it encourages everyone in the organization to contribute ideas for improvement, no matter how small. At its core, Lean Kaizen emphasizes identifying and removing non-value-added activities, commonly referred to as the 7 wastes (such as waiting, defects, and overprocessing). Tools like the PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) cycle, 5 Whys, and 5S (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) help teams analyze problems, develop solutions, and sustain improvements through structured, easy-to-understand methods.
On completion of this two days course, the participants will be able to:
Understand the core principles of Lean and Kaizen and how they complement each other in driving operational excellence.
Identify and eliminate the 8 types of waste and process bottlenecks to improve workflow efficiency.
Apply effective problem-solving tools such as Root Cause Analysis, 5 Whys, and Fishbone Diagram to address real workplace issues.
Implement 5S methodology and develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to sustain a well-organized and efficient work environment.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement by planning and executing Lean & Kaizen events and encouraging team-based solutions.

This course is ideal for supervisors, team leaders, line managers, continuous improvement officers, and operational staff involved in day-to-day processes who are looking to enhance efficiency and eliminate waste. It is also suitable for employees from manufacturing, service, and administrative functions who play a role in process improvement, quality, or productivity initiatives and are committed to driving a culture of Lean and Kaizen within their teams.
This is a 2-days programme. This course runs from 9:00am – 5:00pm with an hour for lunch and periodic short breaks.
This is an intensive session designed to include as much discussion as possible. Lunch and breaks provide an opportunity for further questioning and discussion with the instructors.
