Requirements is one standard that is part of a series of standards developed with the intention to, as defined in ISO 22312: Technical Specifications, “… work towards international standardization that provides protection from and response to risks of unintentionally, intentionally, and naturally-caused crises and disasters that disrupt and have consequences on societal functions.” This series of standards address the “public planning & response” as well as “private sector planning & response.”
The intent of ISO 22301 is to “provide the structure for an organization to design a BCMS that is appropriate to its needs and that meets its interested parties’ requirements.” Built upon the foundation of British Standard 25999-1: 2007, it provides a framework for both BCM program development and improvement.
This 4-day intensive course enables participants to develop the necessary expertise to support an organisation in implementing and managing a Business Continuity Management System (BCMS) based on ISO 22301:2010. Participants will also gain a thorough understanding of best practices used to implement business continuity processes from the ISO 22399. This training is consistent with the project management practices established in ISO 10006 (Quality Management Systems - Guidelines for Quality Management in Projects). This training is fully compatible with BS 25999 (Business continuity management specification) and ISO 27031 (Guidelines for information and communication technology readiness for business continuity).
With the successful completion of this course the participant will be able to:
Describe the implementation of a Business Continuity Management System in accordance with ISO 22301
Gain a comprehensive understanding of the concepts, approaches, standards, methods and techniques required for the effective management of an Business Continuity Management System
Discuss the relationship between the components of a Business Continuity Management System, including risk management, controls and compliance with the requirements of different stakeholders of the organization
Acquire the necessary expertise to support an organization in implementing, managing and maintaining a BCMS as specified in ISO 22301
Acquire the necessary expertise to manage a team implementing ISO 22301
Develop the knowledge and skills required to advise organizations on best practices in the management of business continuity management
Improve the capacity for analysis and decision making in the context of business continuity management
Project managers or consultants wanting to prepare and to support an organization in the implementation of a Business Continuity Management System (BCM)
ISO 22301 internal auditors who wish to fully understand the Business Continuity

This is a 4-days programme. This course runs from 9:00am – 5:00pm with an hour for lunch and periodic short breaks.
This is an intensive session designed to include as much discussion as possible. Lunch and breaks provide an opportunity for further questioning and discussion with the instructors.
