This 2-day training on Understanding the Requirements of ISO 9001:2015 & IATF 16949:2016 provides participants with a clear and structured understanding of the key requirements of modern Quality Management Systems, with a strong focus on automotive industry expectations. The course explains how ISO 9001 serves as the foundation, while IATF 16949 builds on it with additional automotive-specific requirements such as risk-based thinking, customer-specific requirements, and process effectiveness.

Participants will be guided through each clause of the standards, from context of the organization to continual improvement, using practical explanations and real industry examples. Emphasis is placed on how the requirements are applied in day-to-day operations, including planning, production control, supplier management, and problem-solving.

By the end of the programme, participants will be able to interpret the requirements confidently and understand how each clause connects to operational performance and customer satisfaction. The training also highlights key automotive tools and concepts such as APQP, PPAP, FMEA, control plans, and layered process audits to strengthen implementation awareness

By the end of this training, participants will be able to:

• Understand the structure, purpose, and key differences between ISO 9001:2015 and IATF 16949:2016.
• Interpret and explain the requirements of Clauses 4 to 10 in a practical organizational context.
• Recognize key automotive quality tools and methodologies such as APQP, PPAP, FMEA, and Control Plan.
• Understand risk-based thinking, customer-specific requirements, and process approach in quality management.
• Apply the principles of continual improvement, corrective action, and process effectiveness in daily operations.

This course runs from 9:00am – 5:00pm with an hour for lunch and periodic short breaks.
 
This is an intensive session designed to include as much discussion as possible. Lunch and breaks provide an opportunity for further questioning and discussion with the instructors.
