A new wave of challenges in occupational safety and health has led Malaysia to publish OSHA amendments in 2024.
The Occupational Safety and Health (Amendment) Act 20221 was approved by Malaysian parliament on March 16, 2022, and came into force on 1 June 2024.
As a result, two new parts, 10 new sections, the fourth and fifth schedules have been added, two sections have been removed, four sections have been substituted, and 34 sections have been amended.
OH&S legislation in Malaysia provides the fundamental guidelines on the proper control of occupational hazards and risks; and it has defined the competency needed to ensure safety and health at work. It gives the framework on the establishment and implementation of the proper working environment to prevent injury and ill health.
This training provides:
Expose the participant to Malaysia latest changes to the Occupational Safety and Health Act 1994.
Provide guidance on its interpretation, application and compliance.
Participants will be able to understand the importance of the Occupational Safety and Health Act 1994 (2024) and take necessary action to ensure its compliance.

This course is designed for anyone with an interest in the Occupational Safety and Health Act 1994 (2024), safety and health members and working project team for ISO 45001 or OH&S Management System Managers.
This may include Directors/ Managers, Safety & Health Officer, Engineers, Works/Maintenance Managers, and Human Resources/ Personal Affairs Officers
This is a 1-day programme. This course runs from 9:00am – 5:00pm with an hour for lunch and periodic short breaks.
This is an intensive session designed to include as much discussion as possible. Lunch and breaks provide an opportunity for further questioning and discussion with the instructors.
