In today's rapSocial Compliance & Business Integrity Internal Auditor plays a critical role in ensuring an organisation operates ethically, responsibly, and in line with legal and regulatory requirements. By evaluating labour practices, workplace safety, human rights, and ethical standards, the auditor helps safeguard employees’ well-being and promotes a fair, respectful working environment.
This role is important because it identifies gaps, risks, and non-compliance before they become serious legal, financial, or reputational issues. Through systematic audits and objective assessments, the internal auditor supports management in strengthening internal controls, improving transparency, and embedding a strong culture of integrity across all levels of the organisation. This outline is designed for a full-day training session (approximately 8 hours, including breaks), targeting internal auditors, compliance officers, or risk management professionals. The focus is on equipping participants with practical knowledge to audit social compliance (e.g., labor rights, human rights, workplace safety) and business integrity (e.g., anti-bribery, ethical practices, conflict of interest). The structure emphasizes interactive elements like discussions, case studies, and exercises to ensure engagement and applicability. Delivery can be in-person or virtual, with a mix of lectures, group activities, and Q&A.
By the end of this programme, participants will be able to:
Gain a clear understanding of social compliance and business integrity principles, including key global frameworks, regulatory requirements, and ethical standards applicable to audits.
Develop the ability to identify, assess, and prioritise social and integrity risks across operations and supply chains using a risk-based audit approach.
Apply practical audit methodologies and tools such as audit planning, evidence gathering, interviews, checklists, and reporting of audit findings.
Strengthen skills to detect red flags related to labour practices, corruption, conflicts of interest, and third-party risks through case studies and role-playing exercises.
Build confidence to design and execute integrated audits that support ethical decision-making, enhance transparency, and drive continuous improvement within the organisation.
