Coaching requires extensive skill development. Coaching can impact positively on performance once coaches begin to conduct enriching conversations. For this to happen, coaching training must provide the learners with a clear picture of what a coaching conversation is and give them the critical skills required to conduct superior coaching conversations. Performance gap is often recognized as business problems, inefficiency in the current internal business process and/or source for identifying individual’s competency requirements. It is vital for an organization to then identify the root cause(s) of problems and to solve them systematically. The effectiveness and ability to analyse proposed solutions and to make sound decision before the actual execution of any intervention selections is regarded as another key competence the learners must possess.
