Employee & Industrial Relations (ER & IR) Management focuses on building and maintaining positive relationships between employees, management, and where applicable, trade unions. It involves creating a work environment that promotes trust, fairness, and open communication, ensuring that employees feel valued while organizational goals are achieved effectively.
At the same time, ER & IR management ensures that all workplace practices comply with Malaysian labour laws such as the Employment Act 1955 and the Industrial Relations Act 1967. This includes handling disciplinary actions, conducting domestic inquiries, managing grievances, and ensuring that any termination or dispute is carried out with proper procedures to minimize legal risks. Effective ER & IR management not only helps resolve conflicts but also prevents them by fostering strong employee engagement, clear policies, and consistent communication. When managed well, it contributes to a harmonious, productive, and legally compliant workplace, ultimately supporting long-term organizational success.
By the end of this programme, participants will be able to:
Understand key principles of Employee & Industrial Relations
Apply Malaysian labour laws in workplace situations
Handle disciplinary issues and grievances effectively
